Purpose - Unplugged

Purpose.

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from ˹the oil of˺ a blessed olive tree, ˹located˺ neither to the east nor the west, whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. Light upon light! Allah guides whoever He wills to His light. And Allah sets forth parables for humanity. For Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.
Qur’an 24:35 [Surat Al Nur]

The nature of being a woman is adorning and beautifying oneself.

As a Woman, I want to fly high and conquer the skies at the same time hold my wings with grace, such that my inner beauty and external beauty of grace remains true. The greatest challenges is the balance, should I to fit into the culture and society and give in to lesser clothes or stand on sacred ground and shine and radiate from within.

As I was journeying though a successful career and spirituality, the more my faith increased, the more I was conscious of Allah and His role in my successful life, the length of my Hijab increased over time out of reverence, gratitude and awe.

To reach this level, I was once where YOU are now. I waded through many stages to reach here. From modest loose garments, to scarves only, to a body hugging Abayas, to a khimar, and to a niqaab.

My modesty fluctuated with my faith, my rising faith made me feel more naked even when I was fully dressed, so I became more and more modest over a period of time. I began trying on hijabs with different style outfits as I would get ready and then before I left I would take them off. There were times when I began to feel like I was missing something as soon as I took off my hijab. So I started searching and buying colorful Abayas from various countries to get a better sense of how I could still be stylish (very important) but modest.

It's important to find your own style though, to feel completely comfortable. Ultimately you have to go at your own pace. Do not rush the process of preparing yourself. You will be rewarded for every small step you take to get closer to Allah no matter where you are starting.

Piety doesn't come in a day; it’s a journey of the heart. As we progress in our spiritual journey, we will progress in guarding our inner self, we will move from modest to more modest to protect the light that enlightens the world around us from being extinguished

Life for a woman in this day and age is challenging but not impossible. A critical decision of carrying and fusing various shades of colors that will complement your inner spirit befalls you every day, and you present to the world who you are on the inside with your attitude and confidence and what you clad yourself with on the outside.

Clothes aren’t a restriction. We haven't been told discard or give up on wearing good clothes. We’ve been told wear as you please, but when you walk out of your home, plant your feet firmly on sacred ground and display your grace, by breaking the shackles of orthodox, and adopting moderation and practicality whilst guarding your Awrah.

Trying something for the first time can put your stomach in your throat. Getting ahead of the curve is inherently scary, but by braving the wilderness, you can find out who you are. You will experience a wholehearted living, a sense of worthiness which will lead to the sense of feeling worthy of love, worthy of success and a feeling of fulfillment.

I came across my peers, friends and family struggling to balance this and losing the essence of being a woman. I wished to express my version of the ideal modern day Muslimah - bold, influential and strong women; yet not losing the essence of being a one.

This gave birth to an inspiration that gives hope to those who struggle. An inspiration to break free from the shackles of cultural taboo and soar high above the clouds like angels with wings outstretched gracefully making way back home to an eternal abode.

This inspiration, this effort to offer unique, colorful and exclusive Modest Wear options for women from every walk of life, is my love and support to all you ladies who don't have the support I have or are in extremely difficult situations and still put on and choose to wear the hijab. You're much stronger than me. You're much stronger than you think you are.

We all are individuals who with direction and focus can achieve this only through our complete submission to our Creator. Through this submission, I feel protected, I feel strong like I have control over my body and choices, and above all I feel lifted and elevated. I hope to extend this Spirit, this energy to you all so you draw strength from me and soar high.
